My favorite place to visit is the Cabot Trail located on Cape Breton Island. It has some of the most beautiful scenery one will ever find. It has just been named one of the most spectacular drives in North America.
It is located on the very northern tip of the island. It has many beautiful places to stay around the trail. It boasts one of the best golf courses and the famous Keltic Lodge which is set on a rugged cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
There are whale watching tours, quaint little shops, lots of camping and hiking trails for those who love the rugged outdoors.
Some words of advice; take your time driving around the mountains and watch out for deer, moose and coyotes that can be seen while driving at dusk. The most beautiful time to visit is between later June and August. For a breathtaking visit come between the last of September and October when the mountains are blazing with fall colors of orange, red, brown and rust.
