Being a cigar & car enthusiast, I found your article to be interesting and informative. My friend and I are planing to take a trip to Cuba late in November. The main reason we are traveling to Cuba is for cigars. I've been an avid cigar smoker for over 4 years. Since travel and trade to Cuba is against the law in the U.S. we will be traveling via Canada. The prices for a one week vacation at the Hotel National, including airfare to and from Canada cost about $800 Canadian.
I've been told that Cuba can be quite unsafe, especially for American citizens. On the other hand, its supposed to be a vacation hotspot for Canadians and Europeans. I've traveled all over the Caribbean, how much worse can it be than down town Jamaica or Dominican Republic? Did you find any safety problems? Were the hotels nice? Also, my main concern, how was the availability of cigars. I've read in several cigar publications that cigars are harder to get than most people think. Also, what were the prices of cigars. I've been told that they cost about 50-75 U.S. dollars?
Thank you very much for your time. Please keep me informed on your future trips
